Our Weekend

{I'm on a ridiculous Adam Scott binge lately. Someone stop me. Except don't. Ever.}

This weekend I...

Took a picture of Lainie wearing a turkey hat that made her look like a demon.

Did an engagement shoot with a super crazy adorable couple, and then got my cheese on at The Living Room. {Also, as long as I live, I will never achieve the level of cool punk rocker badass that this guy pulls off}.

Ate donuts, a cheeseburger, AND pizza in 48 hours.

Did zero laundry, dishes, or chores.

Slept until 10 this morning.

Watched Grey's Anatomy, Parks and Rec, and New Girl all in one afternoon.

Did a phone consultation with a possible new client {cross your fingers}.

Let myself be lazy and indulgent, and made some great big huge plans for the future.

Our Weekend in Pictures

Normally my pre-scheduled posts go up around midnight.
I don't know why I pick this hour.
I guess I feel like night owls and morning birds alike will get to read the blog at whatever chosen point they like to.
Late at night while you're having some wine and listening to a little Ray? It's up.
First thing in the morning while you're sipping coffee? Go for it, I hooked you up even though your morning person nature confuses and frightens me

But this is not a scheduled post.
I am actually up, right now at 12:26 a.m. writing this.
Jackson had to come home early from school with strep, and he slept all afternoon. So now, he sleeps for about 30 minutes at a time when the sickness wears him out, and then he's up again for another 30 minutes, and demands I hang out with him.
So, here I am.

Saturday, I did a wedding photography consultation with the adorable couple in the picture above. They met at a dance lesson at Denim and Diamonds, and are getting married 1 day after the 1 year anniversary of their engagement.
So cute.

After that, I got to take this little girl out for burgers and fries and strawberry shakes.
We worked on her Junior Achievement project, and she schooled me on Harry Potter trivia.
Love her.

Sunday morning I hung out with this dude. My nephew Theron.
He has the cutest smile, and the most adorable little feet, and I could just eat him up I love him so much.

And Sunday evening, I did a photo shoot with Aria, and her parents Ashley and Sam.
It was an absolutely beautiful day, in the low 80's which is HUGE for Phoenix, so everyone and their mama was at the park, but we still managed to get some nice, relaxed and intimate pictures.
And omg those cheeks.

And last but not least, I got this awesome bottle of wine as a gift from Sam and Ashley.
I have a pretty kick ass job.

Our Weekend: Tucson, John Dillinger and Bears

This weekend Bill took me to Tucson, where we stayed in the Hotel Congress, which you history buffs know is where John Dillinger and his crew stayed briefly in 1934, where a fire in the hotel lead to his arrest and brief capture.
In honor of John Dillinger, we drank only Old Fashioneds and almost all pictures were taken in black and white.
We drove out Saturday night, listening to my iPod shuffle us around the entire spectrum of human emotion, and singing/rapping our little hearts out.
The hotel was very very cool, and the rooms were still decorated as if it were the 30's. I love that.
We did a little bar hopping, almost explored the third floor of the hotel, which is chained off, and had a super hipster breakfast in the morning of red velvet pancakes, and something called baked eggs {I don't recommend it} at Maynard's Kitchen.
Sunday afternoon we took a little drive to a wildlife museum, which is like a zoo but more spread out and natural feeling, and there was a bear.
Pretty much the highlight of my year, and it's only January.
The remainder of 2013 will only pale in comparison.

All in all, a fabulous weekend, and a wonderful surprise, and I couldn't have had a better time.
Gotta love Bill for always coming up with the most interesting and original places to go.

My Weekend: Bliss

This was a really good weekend.
I don't have a bunch of pictures of exciting things we did, but I have some really good memories.
I had Friday off, and I actually used it productively.
Saturday was filled with baseball and ballet and homemade pizza. A scary movie, a shared bag of peanut m&m's and some very well made drinks. A game of truth or dare, and lots and lots of laughs.
Sunday was breakfast at Filiberto's {a hung over girls best friend}, a stroll around Home Depot {my favorite store} and an evening of movie watching with my dad.

I'm loved, I'm cared about, and I am more surrounded than ever by people I love and care about right back.

Honestly, what more could a girl ask for?

Our Weekend: Food, Fun and First Sleep-overs!

The top group of pictures is us on our way to see a girlfriend of mine from work, and then my kids playing with her son. Our boys are only a month apart in age so watching them play together was absolutely adorable. She lived out in the sticks {as you can see from the pictures} so we all slept there that night, and it was Jackson's very first sleep over!
Very exciting times for a four year old.
Saturday we hung around the house, had lunch with Jack's uncle Tony at his family's restaurant, and then I had a lovely night with Bill, that unfortunately there are no pictures of.
Sunday we hit up the farmers market for some fresh peaches, nectarines and watermelon {which I spent ALL DAY cubing and jarring}, I finally got around to cleaning Jack's room {yes that is a picture of it CLEAN} and then we fattened up on some parmesan crusted chicken breast.
Want the recipe?
I know you do, because it's only four ingredients and it was so good that BOTH kids asked for seconds, which literally never happens.

All you need is 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breast
An oven heated to 425
A 9x13 glass casserole dish
Shredded parmesan cheese
Mayo
Italian style bread crumbs
Seasonings you like such as garlic, onion powder, salt and pepper. That's what we used, but you can use whatever turns you on.
Mix the cheese and the mayo, spread on both sides of chicken
Spray the casserole dish with some Pam
Place chicken in it
Sprinkle bread crumbs over the top of the chicken until its coated, but only on the one side

Bake for 20 minutes or until juices run clear.
Enjoy.
It's seriously delicious.

Happy Sunday!
