2012 Photo Challenge: Made

I made these two sleeping babies.
I made a daughter who is just like me in all the best-and most infuriating ways, but with a gentler soul and a sharper mind.
I made a son who's funnier than I could ever hope to be, and also my equal in the world of stubborn. He's a take-no-bullshit kind of kid, which is awesome, and frustrating at the same time.
I made a brother and sister who seem to get closer every day, and even though they still fight, they love on each other a whole lot more often than they used to.
I made a dynamic little duo, and two adorable partners in crime.
And I'll never make, do or become anything that will top them.

2012 Photo Challenge: Heard

Currently I am in Italy, probably creating an International Incident and getting arrested, whilst Bill screams "PASSIVE RESISTANCE! GO LIMP! GO LIMP!"
So I can't give you a picture for this weeks subject which was "heard".
Also I wouldn't even know how to take a picture of something I heard.
Who's idea was it to make heard a photography subject?
Oh right. Mine.
Anyhow, I can give you some stuff from around the internets that sort of has to do with things I've heard...
Oh whatever, it's just shit I like, ok?
What else are you going to do with your time, actual work?!
Don't be a bullshitter.
...
My favorite music video ever:

The two best parts are at 2:21 and 2:37

,,,

<3
This has nothing to do with hearing anything, I just....really really like it.

2012 Photo Challenge: In Your Bag

In my bag, or as Bill calls it "my pocket book". But I always yell at him when he says that because my pocket book would be my wallet, if I was 80 and called my wallet my pocket book, but in no UNIVERSE would a pocket book be my purse BECAUSE WHO COULD FIT THAT PURSE IN THEIR POCKET?!
And it looks nothing like a book.
But then he just says "It's a Boston thing" and my head explodes because he blames all the weird shit he does on being from Boston, except he doesn't have an awesome Boston accent to make up for it, except when he's hungry and kind of sounds like he's from Philly.
It's maddening.

Anyway, for you nosy noodles who want to know what the small shit that you can't see the labels on is, I was nice enough to number it all for you.

1. Herbal children's cough medicine in travel size from Sprouts
2. Urban Decay "All Nighter" makeup spray. It's like hairspray for your maked-up face, and it keeps that shit from smudging, smearing and sweating off. I got it for Christmas from Bill's sister and that shit is awesome-sauce.

3. Victoria's Secret Raspberry something or other body spray. It smells like Raspberry. End of story.

4. EOS sweet mint lip gloss egg

5. Bach Flower Rescue Remedy. Simply the shit.

6. Urban Decay mascara in "Fresh". Also a Christmas gift from Bills sister. I've never met her, but I already kind of love her.

7. Maybeline Age Rewind foundation in "Pale as all get out" shade. It has this fluffy little brush applicator tip thing, and its wonderful. It's the ONLY foundation that has ever matched my skin tone and it evens out my complexion perfectly.

8. Maybeline Mineral Powder blush in light pink

All the other shit is a bottle of Motrin, some Olay face lotion, my wallet, my work badge, a two sided pocket mirror, hand sanitizer, sun glasses and a tire pressure gauge.

And there you have it.
Now you've gotten into my bag.

2012 Photo Challenge Week 10: Wanted

Ok, so I might have cheated on this weeks photo challenge.
In my defense, there was no way around it.
The subject was "wanted", and because I don't have the thing I want, I can't really take a picture of it.
It's this:

13318493_265x265_pad_large
Oh yes.
A Canon Rebel.
Seeing as how I am a single mommy with two little kids who love eating, I could never ever in my life justify buying a $500 camera.
But, I just adore them none the less.

So there you have it.
A picture of something I want.
And I didn't take the picture, because I don't have this pretty camera to take it with.
That's just basic science, really.

2012 Photo Challenge Week Nine: Someone You Love

Week 9: Someone you love.
How about someones I love? As in plural?
Don't mind if I do!!

My Lainie and Jack, and their tumultuous relationship.
They're best friends, they're mortal enemies. He cramps her style, she bosses him around to no end. They scream and fight and push and shove and touch each other's stuff and fight over who gets in the van first. But when he's scared at night, she scares monsters away for him. When they want cookies, he uses his cuteness to score them both some loot. When you try to separate them, they hold on for dear life.
No matter how intense the love and hate might get, they are brother and sister, for life.

I'm Sorry, Photo Challenge

So, I suck, I'm aware. I've missed two separate weeks of the 2012 photo challenge, one of them being this week, and there's just no excuse.
I didn't even just forget to post the picture, I straight up don't have the fucking picture, period.
I know, I suck. I believe I started this whole post with that very sentimate.
Asshole.
Anyway, while I might now have a picture of "Play" which was this weeks subject, I do have some good pictures to show you and hope we can all still be friends.
Yes, these are just the pictures that happened to be in my phone that I uploaded to my computer and then into this blog, slapped a caption on each and called it good.
Deal with it.

They begged  for their own rooms. And when they get them, what to do they do? Come sleep together in mine.

Dude, are Jack and I totally twinsies in this picture, or WHAT?!

Conceited, I'm aware. This is just a picture of me I found on my phone and touched up a bit so you could actually see my face {the sun was initially totally washing out everything below my eyes} and I realized I liked it. A rare thing for me, to like a picture of myself. I considered it worth celebrating.

So there you have it.
I also had a SUPER cute one of Jack and Lainie in the tub together, but you can see Lainie's upper half, which is bare, and the world being what it is these days about pictures of kids, I figured I wouldn't post it.
You would've just died though. Just died. I promise.

2012 Photo Challenge Week Five: Romance

Romance is a hard thing to take a picture of, because it means something different all the time.
Romance is so many different things to me.
It's the way he holds my hand in the car when he drives.
It's the way he always offers to get up and get me water when I say I want some just as we're laying in bed for the night.
It's the way he always texts me good morning.
It's the handmade gifts he gives me for holidays.
It's the sweet cards, and the texts, and the way he looks at me from across the room that makes me want to kiss him so bad.

How do you photograph romance?
How do you take a picture of the way someone makes you feel?
How do you capture on film the butterflies in my stomach and the swoony feeling I get when we kiss, or the way the scent of his skin makes my heart ache, or the way I feel like the prettiest girl in the world when he leads me through a room by the hand, and I can't help but smile like a fool?

The tenderness, the consideration, the passion, the love, and the constant unwavering devotion.
I don't have a picture of that. But I have a picture of the man who gives that to me.

2012 Photo Challenge Week Four: Addiction

Week  Four: Addiction

Toffee and espresso beans covered in dark chocolate.
When I first saw these at Trader Joes I was like "SERIOUSLY?!"
And then I tried one, and after recovering from my full on, Kristen Bell Sloth meltdown, I was like
"Seriously."

These are way fucking good, and so dangerously addictive.

2012 Photo Challenge Week Three: Breakfast

Week 3: Breakfast.

Yep, sad but true. For breakfast every work day, and most weekends, I have coffee.

Hey, in my defense, I'm a busy lady.

I've become quite weird about how I like my coffee too. I use two packets of sugar and one packet of Equal, two french vanilla creamers and one hazelnut. It makes it just perfect, as weird and particular as it may sound.

Hey, at least if I ever have an assistant I will be too embarrassed to ask her to get my coffee for me. Lucky for her.
